About Sunbeam Window & Door Co.

For nearly eight decades, Sunbeam has been where New Jersey families turn when they want it done right—the first time, every time, and long after the invoice is paid.

Since 1946

Three Generations.
One Family. One Standard.

Sunbeam was founded in 1946 by Ace Horniff in Pennsauken Township. A few years later, William Reiss—a World War II veteran who’d been going door to door selling landscaping—got an unusual request from one of his customers: venetian blinds. He took a job at Sunbeam to learn the trade, and by the early 1950s had purchased the company outright from Horniff.

William built the business on a simple premise: show up, do honest work, and stand behind what you sell. His son Wayne joined the company and has spent 40+ years carrying that same standard forward—expanding Sunbeam from venetian blinds into a full-service home improvement company offering windows, doors, custom window treatments, and awnings.

Today, Wayne’s son Shaun runs the business alongside him—the third generation of Reiss family ownership. Shaun grew up in the shop, spent school breaks helping install shades and awnings, and knows every aspect of the operation from product sourcing to customer relationships.

The products have changed since William’s day—from hand-cranked jalousies to Hunter Douglas PowerView automation, from aluminum storm windows to ProVia fiberglass entry doors. But the phone number is the same, the commitment is the same, and the family behind it hasn’t changed.

Full-Service Shop

We Also Repair What We—and Others—Sell

Sunbeam isn’t just an installation company. We’re a full-service shop, which means we repair and service products whether we installed them originally or not. If it involves a window, door, shade, or awning, we can almost certainly fix it.

One of our most-cited reviews is from Harold Middleberg, who brought in broken Hunter Douglas blinds that Hunter Douglas themselves couldn’t fix. Shaun repaired them while he waited. That kind of expertise only comes from four generations of working with these products every day.

We don’t advertise repairs heavily—it’s not the core of our business—but if you have something broken, call us. More often than not, we can help.

🔌
Insulated Glass Replacement

Foggy or failed double-pane glass units replaced in existing frames. No full window replacement needed in many cases.

🏠
Hunter Douglas Shade & Blind Repair

Mechanism failures, broken cords, bent headrails, and fabric issues on any Hunter Douglas product—regardless of where purchased.

☀️
Awning Repair & Re-Fabrication

Torn or faded fabric replaced, broken arms and mechanisms repaired. We sourced parts for a 24-year-old awning—we can usually find what’s needed.

🚪
Door Hardware & Weatherstripping

Sticking doors, failed weatherstripping, worn thresholds, and multi-point lock issues diagnosed and corrected.

Have something that needs attention? Call us at (856) 662-3300 and describe what’s going on. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something we can fix.
